Spooky Halloween Home Tour: Creative Decorating Ideas for 2026

Woohoo! Halloween is just a few days away. We moved into a new house at the end of the summer, and my husband, our little guy, and I are still completely in love with it. After enjoying decorating our townhouse last year, I couldn’t wait to dress up this new home for the season.

We started at the front gate — the little guy and I had fun stretching spider webs and hanging zombie tape across the fence.

I love our new front door and plan to hang a garland around the frame for every holiday. Halloween lights around the doorway make it especially festive at night.

We finally have a fireplace! I made the “beware” banner last year using my cutting machine, and it adds a playful touch to the mantel.

I love the vinyl tablecloth on our dining table—it’s covered with bats, spiders, skeletons, and black crows and ties the whole room together.

A glass jar filled with reindeer moss and a black crow from Dollar Tree makes an easy centerpiece. The tiny pumpkin salt-and-pepper shakers add a cute seasonal touch.

Each bedroom door has a bow that matches the ones on the kitchen pendant lights, creating a coordinated look throughout the house.

I kept the decorations family-friendly and not too dramatic — I don’t want our little boys to be scared in their new home. Full disclosure: I’m a bit of a wimp too!

I purposely haven’t bought candy for trick-or-treaters yet so we don’t eat it all, but otherwise we’re all set and excited for Halloween.
