S’mores in the oven? Absolutely. S’mores made with salty snack crackers instead of graham crackers? Also yes. These oven-baked snacker s’mores deliver the perfect sweet-and-salty summer treat—crispy, salty crackers, gooey marshmallows, and melty chocolate in every bite.

Truth: you don’t need a bonfire or a fire pit to make great s’mores.
One summer evening, faced with eager kids and no outdoor fire, I reached for the broiler and gave it a try. It worked beautifully.
That night I also discovered I was out of graham crackers. A sleeve of salty snack crackers in the pantry became a happy substitute. I wasn’t expecting to love the sweet-and-salty combo—I’m usually one to keep flavors separate—but these surprised me. The salt from the crackers balances the sweetness of the marshmallows and chocolate, and the quick broil gives just the right amount of toast and melt without much fuss. Ever since, this is how we make s’mores: in the oven and with snack crackers.

Note: when broiling, watch the s’mores closely so they don’t burn—broilers work fast.

Oven-Baked Sweet ‘n’ Salty Snacker S’mores
Ingredients
- 2 sleeves snackers (round salty crackers)
- 1 bag chocolate chunks
- 1 bag marshmallows
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven’s broiler. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange one sleeve of snack crackers in a single layer.
-
Place 2–3 chocolate chunks on each cracker.
-
Top each with a marshmallow.
-
Broil on high for about 2–3 minutes, watching closely so the marshmallows toast but don’t burn.
-
Remove from the oven and immediately top each with another cracker, pressing gently to flatten the marshmallow and distribute the melted chocolate.
