Spooky Halloween Home Tour: Creative Decorating Ideas for 2026

Woohoo! Halloween is just a few days away. We moved into a new house at the end of the summer, and my husband, our little guy, and I are still completely in love with it. After enjoying decorating our townhouse last year, I couldn’t wait to dress up this new home for the season.

Front gate decorated with spider webs and zombie tape
We started at the front gate — the little guy and I had fun stretching spider webs and hanging zombie tape across the fence.
Front door with Halloween lights

I love our new front door and plan to hang a garland around the frame for every holiday. Halloween lights around the doorway make it especially festive at night.

Fireplace with a 'beware' banner

We finally have a fireplace! I made the “beware” banner last year using my cutting machine, and it adds a playful touch to the mantel.

Kitchen pendant lights with Halloween bows

The kitchen pendant lights are trimmed with Halloween bows—simple but festive details make the space feel seasonal.

Chandelier above kitchen table
Above the kitchen table hangs our chandelier, which I also dressed up for Halloween.
Dining table with vinyl Halloween tablecloth

I love the vinyl tablecloth on our dining table—it’s covered with bats, spiders, skeletons, and black crows and ties the whole room together.

Glass jar filled with reindeer moss and a black crow
A glass jar filled with reindeer moss and a black crow from Dollar Tree makes an easy centerpiece. The tiny pumpkin salt-and-pepper shakers add a cute seasonal touch.
Bedroom door bows matching kitchen pendants
Each bedroom door has a bow that matches the ones on the kitchen pendant lights, creating a coordinated look throughout the house.
Subtle Halloween decorations suitable for young children
I kept the decorations family-friendly and not too dramatic — I don’t want our little boys to be scared in their new home. Full disclosure: I’m a bit of a wimp too!
Pumpkin decorations and ready-for-Halloween preparations
I purposely haven’t bought candy for trick-or-treaters yet so we don’t eat it all, but otherwise we’re all set and excited for Halloween.
